Gosh, it works!

I'm modding Minecraft 1.20.4 (Quilt) with more than 600 mods. I've tested it expecting crash, but... I just had a minimum framerate of 45 FPS flying around intense forests (with fancy leaves) with a RTX 4060 8Go, Sodium, Indium, Iris, shader and all the optimization mods I've found. Stabilized FPS is between 60 and 90 FPS.
Just one issue for me, I've edited JSON to accept fabricloader >= 0.15.10 because Quilt's team hasn't updated Quilt Loader yet.
Maybe adding automatic LWJGL to version 3.3.3? I've manually done it and it works like a charm.

Hi @Soulfate24 , thanks for reaching out. It's great to hear that you're receiving performance improvements with this mod.
Regarding this mod's compatibility with quilt, I will add a quilt.mod.json to ensure that it works not only on fabric but on quilt too without any additional configuration.

I'd also like to know more about these improvements that you're receiving with this mod if you're willing to proceed with that. This is because I have consulted a few notable Minecraft developers who specifically come from the Minecraft graphics development space, and they are claiming that this mod does nothing. However, I have tested it myself and I've seen a tiny improvement in stability and multiple people are also claiming that this mod does wonders for them which prompts a further investigation into the developers' claims and everybody else's.
In order to proceed, I would like to know the following:

• OS Name & Version
• System Manufacturer, Model & SKU (if your device is from an OEM such as HP, Dell, Asus, etc. If you built your PC yourself, then I don't need this information)
• Processor (e.g. Intel Core i9-14900KF)
• Graphics Card(e.g. AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT)
• Graphics Card PNP Device ID (e.g. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9B41 )
• Graphics Card Driver Version

I will use this information to verify your graphics capabilities and other things to verify the claims made.

On Windows 10 & 11, all of this information can be displayed by pressing the following combination: Windows + R. This will open the "Run" dialog. In the text box, type msinfo32. This will open "System Information". From there, the very first screen you will see is "System Summary". You will find your OS Name and Version there at the top, the System Manufacturer, Model and SKU below that, and finally the Processor right below the System SKU. To find information about the graphics card, open the "Components" dropdown on the left of the window and click "Display". This will show information about your graphics card. The graphics card Name will be at the top with the PNP Device ID below it, and the Driver Version a bit below that.

Aditionally, a before and after of your Minecraft F3:

And finally (sorry for so many questions!):

• What is the difference in FPS with this mod, compared to without the mod?

My experience and conclusion:

• There is no MAX FPS improvement but;
• I can smoothly fly away at high speed while the game is busy loading chunks (when CPU is really busy);
• GPU is more often 100% used, so the game stutters less. Difference can be from 80% to 100% usage, switching from OpenGL 3.2 to 4.6;
• Using Lossless Scaler (universal upscaler and frame generator) is a better experience with OpenGL 4.6 because the frame generation is more consistent thanks to smoother FPS. In a real life gameplay context, I cap FPS to 60, enable adaptive V-Sync and that was NOT the case during the test. I didn't used Lossless Scaler too for the test.

The mod nvidium is enabled only when the shader is disabled. You can "see" it running on the "Shader OFF" screenshots ;)
I didn't really tested the game with nvidium ON btw, maybe it's unstable. Let's say it's stable until I reply here about it!

Looks like I completely forgot the other part of your initial message, making the mod force LWJGL 3.3.3 on Minecraft versions earlier than 1.20.5/6. I will look into adding that as a feature to ThreatenGL as that will definitely introduce optimisations from the LWJGL team themselves to OpenGL, however it would be interesting to see whether modding allows such a feature.

Honestly, I've edited my main json and replaced every "3.3.2" strings with "3.3.3". I've deleted files, the launcher downloaded them but the latest 3.3.3 version. I don't know how mods work and where they could do magics or not, I have no idea ^^
