When a product is disabled in Magento the Internal reference (default_code) not sync to Odoo. All the other fields sync correct

OK after a little more search I found that if a simple product is disabled in magento then the product created in odoo but without variants. When I choose to enable the product and requeue the job a variation created to odoo with the SKU as Internal Reference. I wonder if is possible to create the variant to odoo even the product is disabled to magento.

thanks for the explanation. Agree that this would be helpful. One "fix" would be to have it be in a category which is not public in Magento and have it not be findable via search or catalog.

Another solution is to set status to "Enabled" but the visibility to "Not Visible Individually".
