Because of several issues with gitbook-cli, its status, and calibre issues I am seeking for a replacement or help with a solution which works.

The goal is:

  • to enable almost everybody to build or get a PDF
  • should work at least under every Linux distro
  • it should be maintainable (no private or deprecated repos)

Had a quick look and the Electron PDF looks suitable for this - https://github.com/fraserxu/electron-pdf , it also offers CLI support.

Thanks for the hint, @dansecops.

I realize that e.g. MASVS and MSTG still use gitbook which seems to work fine. So in principle we can also fix the current setup if it works and provides a future-proof technology.

In any case, I am a n00b as far as that is concerned and need help either fixing the current problems or look for something different. The the latter it would be awesome to have a POC and somebody's helping beyond that.
