This may seem like a minor issue, but it's really infuriating when I just want to see the name of the variable to know if I spelled it correctly.
Ideally this would at minimum have a "title" attribute so I can mouse-over and see the underlying variable name / kinda like it does when the variable grid is in read-only mode (it's the first thing I tried to do when I couldn't see the name of the variable)

In 4.0.7, we have made the name column a little wider, and made the scope column a little narrower. Hopefully this will help those people out who have had trouble viewing all of their variable names. This is not a final solution, but just a short-term improvement to help people a little bit until we can implement resizeable columns.
