The enhancement

Following the introduction of the initial package metadata features, we extended to include the ability to let users define a project's release notes template. This has worked well and the variables we include have been tweaked over the course of the patches to include a number of thing, including the distinct list of work items for the release.

During the deployments we've also extended the variables to include the distinct list of work items, for those who have work items crossing package boundaries.

There are also those who have work items crossing release bounaries, and whilst our deployment variables cope with this the UI on the deployment (task summary) page in the portal does not.

The requested enhancement is to allow users to define a template for deployment notes, based on the same templating type capabilities available to the email step. The result should be available as a variable to the deployment itself, e.g. in case the email step itself wants to use it, and also be used to display the content in the portal.
