Hello,

today im updated from 3.0 RC2 to 3.0 RC3. Since this update the GUI is instable. Randomly the GUI crashs and restarts. The problem occourd on starting movies, stopping movies, changing the audio language.

It's not possible to identify the cause. The problem ocours randomly.I'm running on a AMD A6 withn XVBA. Prior the update to RC3 the system was completely stable

Greetings

I'm using Fusion x86_64 2.99.3 (3.0 RC 3). Is there a build available for this plattform?

No - will come with rc4. Btw. The Fusion build is E series Fusion. There are special compile flags integrated that slow down your A6. For you the Generic build is the right one.

I'm confused. An AMD A6 is a fusion processor. With this build all is working out of box. Has the generic build XVBA implemented?

Yes - don't be too confused. The naming scheme is a bit problematic. The generic build has XVBA/VDPAU/VAAPI support integrated. The latter two you can just disable.

The problem is not mandatory the compile flags, btver1 is used, which was introduced for the first bobcat CPUs. Fusion is a more compact build, as there are only the drivers integrated that are on standard fusion platforms, this you will realize with soundcard support.
I think your A6 is btver2, so you are lucky here, that the Flags of the normal fusion version (btver1) are also available in your machine (http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/i386-and-x86_002d64-Options.html).

If, everything you need is integrated with the fusion you ran before - keep it. But in general the Generic is suggested, as it might be, that you have a soundcard or some other device, e.g. you don't use the integrated graphics and so on, that you must use Generic.

I hope this makes it a bit more clear.

Btw. i am currently searching testers. Testing is not an easy job. But after last time, i nice and nifty bug swipped into RC3 ... i want to organize a bit more testing. So - if you have some time, doing specific and well defined tests, write me via my github EMail.

Yesterday, I updated to RC 4 (Generic Build i386 ... why ist not x64 Build available?). The problems are solved. The GUI is stable.
