just got the update and at first the keyboard wasn't working but I saw that it could be fixed by removing OpenEmu from the input keyboard and then adding it again. But now my volume does not work and I'm not exactly sure how to fix it. Any help or ideas?

I'm having a similar issue (OpenEmu version 2.4.1, macOS version 12.3.1), but only with emulating GBA games. Upon opening any GBA game, the audio will play for about 2-3 seconds before going completely silent. Switching the audio output to a different device, and then going back to the previous output device, will temporarily bring the audio back. However, it will go silent once again after a few seconds have passed.

This only began happening after updating OpenEmu from 2.3.3 to 2.4.1. I did not change any of OpenEmu's settings between the time of the update and the time the error began to occur, aside from setting up keyboard input permissions in System Preferences once again. The audio for non-GBA games seems to be fine though—I tried booting up SNES, NES, DS, and PS1 and the audio seems to work.

The only other potentially relevant detail I can think of is that, around June or July of this year, the emulator began to randomly stop playing certain GBA sounds (specifically, the sounds for dialogue and moving the cursor in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones) after some amount of time passed. After a few minutes of this, the sounds would return. I'm not confident that this is related to the issue at hand, though—as this has also happened to people who were not using OpenEmu to emulate GBA, I was previously under the assumption that this error was not related to OpenEmu specifically.

The same thing has been happening to me since the last update, only GBA games have failed to play audio after a few seconds. I hope a solution to the problem can be found.

I am experiencing the exact same issue with Monterey 12.7.2. GBA games do not play audio after a few seconds.

Echoing the above. I'm having the same problem with GBA audio cutting out after a few seconds. I've tried the core GBA emulator on it's own without the OpenEmu interface and the audio appears to work just fine. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help

im also having the same issue, i just thought it was with one game, but it seems just any game using the GBA core causes it. i use a macbook air 2015, hope it gets fixed soon!

Edit: I'd fully recommend two things to do in the mean time (until the issue is resolved) the first is download an older version of Openemu and rename it to something like "openemu 2.3.3" so that they can both be on the application folder (it really hates being anywhere else) the second is using a different emulator. I'm currently using the first so I continue using the same savestates.

I am also experiencing sound issue in OpenEmu 2.4.1 with mGBA 0.10.2 (macOS 12.6.8).
I try the same ROM with mGBA 0.10.3 directly from https://mgba.io/ and it works properly.
