A failed assert crashed the the game:

Assertion failed at line 1024 of ..\src\viewport.cpp: type < HT_DIR_END

Log, dump, screenshot and emergency save are attached.

The crash occurred when laying a piece of track at the top end of the smaller station (see screenshot).
I was unable to reproduce this with the emergency save file.

Update: this has occurred 3 times in the last 30 mins or so of game play.
In every case it has been connected with laying new tracks.

I have also had the same thing happening but in my case it has always happened when laying track next to stations (3 times so far).

It's fixed in r21619, but closing this bug probably makes someone else open a new one in a few hours. So let this stay open for a while.

The error occurred while building in pause-mode. It is nice that the bug is apparently fixed, but how to prevent the error? It occurred twice in an hour time, luckily I had saved the game just before starting to build. I was using the cheats, could that cause the error?

If I recall correctly it has something to do with building with the "autorail" tool, i.e. if you take the four other rail building tools it'll likely work just fine.

It seemes it have to do with the autobuildingtool in railways. Everytime I trie to build a junction it crashes. As shown in crash.png the tracks on left was used original tools,on the tracks to the right I used autotool.
