I just upgrade to Gnome 3.36 and a number of icons are not working any more.

I think they're all actions icons (like previous, next, open-menu) and so maybe it's an inheritance problem but I tried editing index.theme to no avail (although I have a feeling there's some way of refreshing the icon theme that I now forget).

I'm on Arch and I'm using Arc.

I'm seeing a similar issue in Xfce on Arch, e.g. the back, forward and up icons in Thunar are missing.
It started a few days ago.

Exactly the same issue here as the two people above, but I'm in Gnome on Arch. It started when I updated Gnome to 3.36, I tried downgrading back to Gnome 3.34 and it was still an issue.

Reinstalling the icon pack didn't help. I also tried to reinstalling shared-mime-info, and gdk-pixbuf2, with no success. I also checked persmissions on directory /usr/share/mime, and even ran /usr/bin/gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders --update-cache, to no success.

Some errors produced in journalctl give:

gnome-terminal-[1373]: Could not load a pixbuf from icon theme. This may indicate that pixbuf loaders or the mime database could not be found.
gnome-shell[956]: Could not load a pixbuf from icon theme. This may indicate that pixbuf loaders or the mime database could not be found.

Any other icon themes I use work fine.
