We should choose a slogan and a bee image to print them on the t-shirts. Also we should choose the color and the type of the T-shirt.

Also we need to know who wants to have a t-shirt (Name, quantity, size). We don't have a sponsor at this moment, so, probably, we will pay ourselves for the T-shirts on Summit.

White shirts are going to be the easiest to print on. I also think we just want one design as otherwise the costs increase for every new design.

My brother lives in London so I will ask him to get the shirts sorted out for us so nobody has to incur crazy baggage allowances dragging tshirts across the sky.

Great. We need to find someone in San Francisco to print t-shirts, if bees want to have t-shirts there too.

How many folks will bee in SF? I expect Jeff will, and I will. Maybe alf folks like Richard would want shirts. A pretty easy thing would be to publish the design to cafe press and have folks print their own shirts. Alternatively I could look for a local company we could pick up from. Not sure if any of the hive are in SF?

I should add I personally dislike white shirts. Dark grey would go nicely with the mascot I think...

possible slogan:
"I (bee) lieve in Open Source!" - where (bee) is the logo.

I prefer black and also dislike white, size M

If there are not much more than 10 I could also organize the printing. We have a T-Shirt printing shop near our office and the nice thing is that they print on request and you can choose size/colour/cut for every single t-shirt.

I'll buy a shirt. I think it would be easiest to use Cafe Press or some similar online service, rather than figuring out how to shuttle money all over.

My suggestion: "May the order bee with you!" ^___^

I'll be attending Summit in SF. A t-shirt would be fantastic. How quickly can Cafe Press turn around an order? What would be helpful for me is for someone to allow me to ship my t-shirt to them and then pick it up when I get to SF.

I like Bindu's suggestion of a dark grey shirt with the mascot. Would look sharp.

"Buzzing about Alfresco"

I'm a big fan of dual meanings when it comes to slogans and there are a couple of good ones here.

  1. "Buzzing about Alfresco": "Buzzing" can mean euphoric. In this context it is "I'm really excited about Alfresco". Here it means Alfresco the product.

But I love the other meaning...

  1. "Buzzing about Alfresco": "buzzing about" in this context means "flying around", the implication of a swarm of bees, surrounding their target, Alfresco. Here it means Alfresco the company.

I'm up for a t-shirt. If I can get one in time for the SF summit, I could even wear it on stage...

I think it's a time to decide if we want to have T-shirts for Summit in SF.

My favorite slogan is "Buzzing about Alfresco".
About a place to print T-shirts: I like the idea of using Cafe Press, but I think that we should not oblige people to use it. Jeff sent me T-shirts for Alfresco Moscow Meetup in the end of March and I still didn't get them. So I think that we should give other options for people outside the US.

We can publish EPS image for printing and a list of recommended colors for the T-shirt. So people can order the T-shirt they like in a place they like. And we can order some T-shirts together for the Summit in London.

Oksana, thanks for catching this up.
I'm very comfortable with the slogan and would be happy with an eps.

Added images for printing to the repo. Finally we have 2 versions of the image:

  • default bee + black text to print them on the white T-shirt
  • bee with a white border + white text to print them on the black T-shirts (also it can be used for all dark colors)

Text is stretched a bit to look better after printing, don't worry about it.

http://www.cafepress.com/ is pretty nice to print T-shirts, but I didn't find how to save my design to share the link with you.

I set up a "store" at skreened.com so you can order shirts with just a click:

http://skreened.com/ootb

Click on "More Styles" if you want to use a short-sleeve shirt.

I'll be ordering one of those! In hopes of getting it in time for Summit in SF, could I have it shipped to someone in the US? Richard, would it be ok to send to your attention at the Alfresco office?

Thanks Richard! FYI it is possible to use Richards link and then change the tee that the images are applied to.

I made a change to the font, and the shirts disappeared. They should be approved again in a few minutes and available to purchase.

Benjamin: It would be best to send to the San Mateo office, attention: Kyle Hillstead and Richard Esplin

Thanks Richard, I shall do so.

Created a separated issue for ordering T-shirts in London: #12

Close this issue as "fixed". We chose a design and slogan :)
