The only way to close the page inspector is by View->Inspect Page -- which is confusing. Add an "[x]"-Button in the inspector's menu.

Yes, this is known issue, but sadly cannot be done by changing its context menu (or you mean Inspect action from page context menu?), not even using event filter or context menu policy (I've tried to disable that nonsense context menu on Inspector that offers to open another Inspector inspecting original one - I think that this could be reported upstream).
I've planed to simply position QToolButton over its widget (needs event filter checking for resize event etc.), so it could be quickly closed. It's preferred solution, if it will play well with that weird widget.
