Logging in takes very long #87

With a large selection shown (in an example case all organisations, all available data), logging in can take 30-40s. During this time a little progress bar is visible in the login panel. However to end users this is a bad experience.

It doesn't really matter whether a large or a small selection is shown; logging in takes over 10 seconds and usually much more in any case.
