Armored Core 2/Another Age: Garbage graphics in both HW and SW #2393
Comments
To save me saying this on every new issue you posted, did you try the OpenGL renderer or just DirectX? If just DirectX can you try OpenGL too? it is generally more compatible |
It was my understanding that SW was no different regardless of the backend, not really a factor anyway since I tested everything with both HW and SW on both OGL and DX11 |
OK thanks |
And what about EE/IOP-VUs Rounding mode? |
No effect on that issue |
still an issue ? 🙂 |
Slightly changed in AC2, still has some broken graphics in both SW and HW, but now FPU negative div hack doesn't really remove the garbage in SW. |
I tested it on v1.7.4338 with my Windows 10 PC. FPU Negative Divide Hack fixes this issue only on Software renderer, as issue author said. |
I believe pre_round fixes this on both hw/SW |
Tested this game on 7b0880f , here are the results:
|
PCSX2 version:
v1.5.0-dev-2334-gefc1274b2
PCSX2 options:
Default
Plugins used:
Default
Description of the issue:
Some graphical garbage appears at all time when the HUD is present, mainly on the right of the radar and at the bottom right of the energy gauge, more of those appear if more HUD elements are enabled.
The issue can be fixed by enabling the "FPU Negative Div Hack" but it does cause an issue in Armored Core 2 where some 3D models disappearing in the garage or shop,, Another Age does not seem to have any issues with that setting on .
That setting only fixes the SW renderer the HW renderer is completely unaffected (regardless of setting and resolution)
Additionally the HW renderer has much more graphical garbage once you increase the resolution, no setting affects it outside of TC offsets but changing those does not produce a good result either (mostly just makes it worse and the garbage itself shifts during gameplay so even if you find a setting that helps it won't help for long)
How to reproduce the issue:
1.Start a new game
2.Wait for gameplay
Last known version to work:
None (only tested stable version down to 0.9.8)
PC specifications:
Intel i7 4770K
Nvidia GTX 1070 (390.77)
Windows 7.
