PCSX2 version:

v1.5.0-dev-2644-gfc1d9aef0
v1.5.0-dev-2642-g122871654

  • Notes:
    • It's preferred to only report bugs which are present on the latest development builds.
    • The PSX backward compatibility mode is still in its early stage of development. Issue reports are too early at this point.

PCSX2 options:
Clamping:Normal. SpeedHacks:None. Gamefixes:Automatic

  • Note: Generally it's recommended to have settings as default as possible and use the Safest preset. If there's no issue with these settings but there is an issue with some other non-default option, then please state it explicitly.

Plugins used:
Default settings Crc hack level:Partial(Opengl recommended)

  • Note: In case the issue is a graphical problem with the GSDX plugin, please provide basic information like Renderer/Internal resolution/CRC Hack level/Other relevant options which were used to reproduce the issue. Additionally, providing a GS dump of the issue would also be helpful.

Description of the issue:
Black screen when recompiler is on

How to reproduce the issue:
Run Nascar 09 without EE Cache

Last known version to work:
Unknown

PC specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700HQ @ 2.80GHz Kaby Lake 14nm Technology GPU: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 OS: Windows 10 64 Bit

Basically I'm either wondering if there is a fix yet for the game requiring EE Cache to boot or if there is a way to make EE cache go faster via speedhacks or other methods

The EE cache is only needed at the main loading process, that mean you can switch back to recompillers at any time after loading the game with the interpreter.

Btw there is already a meta issue that track all games that require EE cache to work. #2248
So you can close the issue, we know about it :).

I guess I forgot to comment here but you can boot with the EE cache and then make a savestate at the main menu. That will allow you to skip it from then onward
