Description of the issue:
DOF is glitching in HW mode. It's rather selective, because sometimes DOF works fine. I tried various cutscenes throughout the game in Demo Theater Mode and it's everywhere.
PCSX2 Opengl HW:
PCSX2 Opengl SW:
How to reproduce the issue:
It's basically in nearly every cutscene. Easy to see when the entire screen in HW mode is drowned in blur for now reason.
This issue is still present to this day in MGS3. Best way to play it is to disable Depth Emulation, and this way only the background objects will be blurred properly, while the foreground will remain in focus (though there still is a mild blur that is applied to the foreground character when the scene calls for it).
Issue is also present in MGS2, but the blur/lack of is switched. When needed, the foreground characters are properly and fully blurred (not just mildly) but the background is just mildly blurred.
Edit: what's interesting is that the HD remaster of 3 has the "exact" same issue.
