Unable to "add image" to PECE essay

When I attempted to create an image pane in a PECE essay on the Housing Energy PECE instance, I encountered an error stating that the image couldn't be uploaded for cropping, and that I should try again in a different browser.I wasn't trying to embed the image, I tried to upload the image as its own pane in the PECE essay. I tried to upload images as PNG and JPEG, and I attempted this on a Macbook, Chromebook, and PC in Chrome, Firefox, and internet explorer. I also tried to upload images of different sizes.
