From Paul.Moore@uk.origin-it.com

In my Win32 Perl build, a file guiperl.exe is installed. I can find no
information about what it is, or how I should use it.

On the expectation that it might be a copy of perl.exe compiled to run
in the
GUI subsystem (ie, without a console), I tried running it. I get a
message
box, telling me

  Runtime error!
  Program: C:\Applications\Perl\Bin\MSWin32-x86\guiperl.exe
  abnormal program termination

Presumably, something is wrong, but as I can't find where the executable
was
generated from (there's no mention of guiperl.exe in the Win32
Makefile), I'm
unsure how to attempt a fix...

On the other hand, copying perl.exe to perlw.exe and then doing
  editbin /subsystem:windows perlw.exe
does seem to give a perfectly good non-console Perl, so maybe
guiperl.exe is
not what I thiunk it is...
