Hi,
I've been using ibus for several years to type in different languages. Recently I discovered your input method and couldn't wait to try it out. However, after installing it and setting it up, I can't get it to work anywhere. So, if you could help me figure out what is missing, that would be great.
What I've done so far
Install IBus and IBus STT in my OS
In GNOME Settings → Keyboard, add IBus STT to my list of input methods (it is displayed as
Other (Speech To Text)
)In IBus STT Settings → General:
In IBus STT Settings → Text formatting:
In the desktop, start an app and place the text cursor in a text field (tried on IceCat, Ungoogled Chromium, GNOME Text Editor, GNOME Shell)
Switch to IBus STT input method using Super+Space (it takes about 1 second to load).
Speak to the microphone and wait for speech to text conversion
Expected result
I'm not sure because I haven't seen IBus STT in action, but I would expect text to appear in the text field in step 5.
Unexpected result
No text is added to the text field I selected in step 5.
System information
Notes
~/.cache
. That doesn't work in this case though.Questions
