The page linked at About rel=noopener reports that

2021 update: Browsers now implicitly set rel=noopener for any target=_blank link, following a spec change.

Should it be removed from the extension to avoid extraneous code?

Thanks for the reminder, I wasn't aware of this change before. But I will keep this behaviour for now for compatibility.
