Currently Postgres.app uses an outdated version of the Sparkle framework for updates (1.26.0)

We should consider updating to the newest version, since there have been a lot of improvements in the 2.x branch.

update to Sparkle 2.x
used EdDSA Signatures
if possible adopt delta updates

delta updates are not supported because Postgres.app contains symlinks and signed shell scripts (xattr)
