Stata 14+ supports Unicode. However, odkmeta was written to be compatible with Stata 11, and it does not currently support Unicode.

If there is enough need for it, we should consider adding Unicode support to odkmeta. Until then, we should at least document in the help file that odkmeta does not support Unicode.
