TV model: LG 55EF9509
Software version: 04.25.55
[LG] webOS TV EF9509

ChanSort version: 2017-01-26 (v2)

Hi,
I was trying to clean up the channel list from the initial scan.
I mainly just deleted unused channels (and renamed two other channels).

I copied the cleaned up list to the tv and at first everything looked good.

After switching the tv off and back on again several times, the list became messed up and channels which I had left in were gone all of a sudden.

I attached the channel lists and hope that this can help track down the problem. The attached zip file contains three lists:

  • original-list: the original list from the TV scan with all channels
  • sorted-list: the list after I removed unwanted channels with ChanSort
  • sorted-messed-up: the list I ended up with on the tv after switching off and back on

I only edited satellite channels! To spot the differences, please check the beginning of the sat channels. In my edited list, there was the channel "ZDF HD" on program spot 2, in the messed up list there is "arte HD" on that spot.

Best regards,
Oliver

I have LG 49UH770V. After I edit my list as you said the same situation happened. On the right up corner of screen notification appears like "20.02.2017 list updated" then list starts to screw up. Is it about TV or some kind of a bug from Chansort?

I had the same problem with 43UH603v and solved. It is one of many bug in WebOS 3, firmware version 04.30.70, namely it is constantly searched in the background for new channels. You have to activate LG Hotel Mode, activate LG Hotel Mode Setup, and set DTV Programs Update to manual. And then the modifed with Chansort channel list via USB copy on the television.

To activate the hotel mode: Press and hold the Settings button on the remote control for approx. 8 seconds until the current channel with number/name appears. Then immediately enter 1105 consecutively and confirm with ok. Now you are in hotel mode.

Good morning at all.
I have the same problem on my 84 monitor 32LX330C, these monitors after some week have decide to reassign every channel originally deleted form list, and the main problem is that also the startup channel assigned during the power-on (CH 801) is changed to a new random channel (CH 157).

If i try to analyze the file CLONE, the configuration for DTV update il already OFF. (unfortunately)

<dtvChannelUpdate type='0'0/dtvChannelUpdate>

I have ask LG if is available some new other FW to try.

@alslan I tried your solution but I couldnt manage to open Hotel mode by pressing settings button as you said. Our firmware version the same, it is because of may be different tv models. Better to wait for LG firmware update for this issue.

Deleting channels in LG channel lists can often cause trouble.

Whenever you tune in a transponder to watch one channel, the TV will automatically add all other channels on the same transponder back into the list at the first available position it finds. Sometimes the whole list can get messed up.

Therefore I suggest to select "append unsorted channels at the end" option, which will also flag them with "skip" and "hide", so they should not get in the way of normal TV channels.

The hotel mode / DTV channel update setting can be used to disable automatic changes to the channel list, but has some caveats. You can no longer use DVR functions on the TV and (at least with older models) you can't switch from the EPG to the channel. The "reset to factory defaults" menu will also be disabled when hotel mode is active.

I´m still having this issue.
I know it´s more a LG Problem, but has somebody a specific workaround for this problem?

hotel mode is no option, because i use the dvr functions.
