Role

I play modded Minecraft.

Suggestion

If a mod is installed, but for the wrong version (minecraft/forge/fabric etc) Display the mod as red in the mods window.

Benefit

It will be easier to identify problems with incompatible versions.

This suggestion is unique

  • I have searched the issue tracker and did not find an issue describing my suggestion, especially not one that has been rejected.

I like this idea with one caveat: Allow me to disable it with some sort of "multi-loader" option, because things like https://github.com/skyrising/LiteFabric, https://github.com/arthurbambou/Apron and https://github.com/arthurbambou/Legacy-Fabricated-Forge exist, and it would get annoying for working mods to stick out.

While we are at it, we can create two colour labels.

[yellow or orange] One for mods that are loose fits but below. I.E. mods that are 1.19.2 when the instance is 1.19.4
[red] One for truly mismatching versions
