We discussed maybe creating a seperate respository for the front-end code.

This would include:

  • A React registration page hosted on Heroku to replace the existing airtable one (first priority)
  • A new project page to replace the existing one
  • A page to allow editing of user skills (new functionality)

Thoughts on this?

Possible benefits:

  • Easier to bootstrap new people into the progbot project (since the codebase will be compartmentalized by responsibility)
  • The front-end can be built independently of Rails' architecture
  • We can proceed with the UI while the back-end architecture is still in flux

Obvious downside is that there'll be more moving pieces for the project owners to manage.

I'm in support for this idea, but as a front-end'er, I'm certainly biased :)
