Expected Behavior

It should be possible to move all e-mail from the Thunderbird local e-mail store to proton

Current Behavior

Many e-mails can't be moved

Steps to Reproduce

Moving the e-mail shows an error. The moving process is aborted

Version Information

Thunderbird v115.5.1 (32-Bit)
Bridge v3.7.1 (br-183)

Screenshots of the different errors

Thanks,
Hyper

In order of appearance:

  • Something went wrong with the proton servers. Could be a temporary short lived outage. If it is consistent, would you be comfortable sharing the message with us for analysis?

  • It seems this message either has an invalid From address or we have a bug in our parser. Could you share the message From header?

  • This message is missing a required From header. You will need to add one before importing it into Proton. You could use the "Header Tools Improved" add-on to modify the message.

Hi,

this is not a really good solution. I would have to go through hundreds of mails and if I find them, then fix them all by hand?
I try to filter out a bunch of them...

Why is the movement of mails so incredible slow btw.?
It seems not to be multi threaded. About one second for one e-mail is really much to slow.
It should at be at least be 100 per second for 50kb mails.
Moving many thousands of emails is actually really a pain, especially with occurring errors which make the process even more cumbersome.

@HyperCriSiS currently, we can only import one message at a time. This is a limitation of the IMAP protocol. I believe there is an extension for this, but we have not implemented it.

Actually it would even help a lot if the import process would not be aborted when one e-mail can't be imported.
Can you please change this?

As I've mentioned in my previous comment, the Bridge does not control this. This behavior comes from your IMAP client of choice.
