As described in this issue of Delta Lake project delta-io/delta#1408, they are planning to get rid of version control and replace it for a set of features that must be supported in order to read/write a table property.
This could be potentially beneficial for Qbeast. Currently we are extending/mocking some part of the code of Delta, and ideally the Table Features could let extend the format in a more clean and programmatic way.
We should explore if this is really feasible, how to do it and be updated on the topic.
