The documentation of the work includes:

  • Gold archive optical disk with software and data
  • Silver optical disk with software and data
  • Source code included on disks and on archival prints
  • README text file with instructions on disks and printed
  • Set of documentation prints, still images of the software
  • Aluminum box

The source code has only been included with the documentation since 2014. If the work was collected prior, the source is available on request.

The software is provided as one instance of the work, but as mentioned in The Work, the software is not important — the instructions encoded in the source code are the work. These instructions can be ported from one programming language to another and can be run on different hardware as media technologies shift. The documentation prints and the source code are the guides to porting the work to new programming languages and hardware platforms.
