Problem Description

Whenever I use ComfyUI to generate a 2048*2038 image, the computer loses power.
I use a 650W power supply

Operating System

NAME="Ubuntu" VERSION="22.04.4 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)"

CPU

model name : 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-12100

GPU

AMD Radeon Pro W7900

ROCm Version

ROCm 6.0.0

ROCm Component

No response

Steps to Reproduce

Install https://github.com/comfyanonymous/ComfyUI
Generate a 2048*2048 image
The computer lost power

(Optional for Linux users) Output of /opt/rocm/bin/rocminfo --support

ROCk module is loaded

Oh, I found that the core frequency of the GPU reached 2.8Ghz. After I limited the frequency to 1.7Ghz, this problem no longer seems to occur.

Minimum PSU Recommendation is 750W. https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/workstations/radeon-pro/w7900.html Although I'd expect 650W power supply should be able to handle it if it was a high quality one, I'd buy high quality 1KW power supply for a set up like yours.

Note also the newest ATX specs require the PSU to handle larger short spikes of power draw while still holding up voltage. An older PSU at the limit of it's capacity might stumble there too.

Closing this ticket as an improper PSU was used. @YuChuXi, please reopen if you still encounter abnormal power outage with a recommended PSU.

@nartmada nartmada closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale May 2, 2024
