@TekComm can you upload this elsewhere? MEGA has a 5 GB free transfer limit and I can't download the last 2 GB of the zip file. If this works for me I'd rather pay you the $5 they're charging. |
@TekComm After 12 hours of leaving the MEGA app to sync the file to my computer, I finally got the entirety of the zip file! Thanks! Will flash and try it out now. It would be great to have Version 2 up on your GitHub as well rather than just this thread. |
My second time through reading. I will have my own block rippa https://www.meetup.com/Hampton-Roads-Blockheads-A-cryptocurrency-community/photos/28815999/470496043/ |
Only OpenCL that works for me w/ gfx900 is via Mesa/clover. Using the fkxamd/drm-next-wip (4.17.0-rc2) with 1.0.6 thunk libs now. Just need some rocm userland to go with it at this point. |
Awesome work on this! |
@TekComm
There are no Frontend headers in llvm-7.0-dev |
@TekComm May you try to prepare the image with Ansible or with Docker? |
Here's the image modified for 2-core CPUs:

Hey tekcomm, Can't wait for the new recipe from you with the 18.04 :) greeZ |
awesome, will reservate some sparetime on weds than :) |
Mega says that they will probably fail on our Download. They don't say so, but opening a free cloud storage account on Mega, then Sharing to our mega storage, instead of Download, can then make our Download go all the way through as a Sync. Sync to local by running the Mega app on target computer where we will burn the flash with the huge dd, once it syncs to here. Open a free mega account. Download the app. Share the big file over to mega cloud space. The mega app can then be set up locally do Sync the file to here. I watched the recommended youtube vid of Linux flipping off Nvidia. Next vid on playlist, Linus interview, he defines Good Taste as ripping out, down to the proverbially elegant, yet to Linus simply more efficient, simplicity, like headless rtos rippa here. |
Hello, Could you please send me the v3 so I can test it on my vegas. |
Hey tekcomm, do you have an idea when you can release your new version with the 18.04? ;) Also I'm willing to help you out with testing if you need it :) |
Any chance you could post this a different way? Maybe a torrent or something (I would seed it)? Mega is kind fo a no-go. |
I have a version on Google Drive but the 4.13 kernel crashes so I've updated it to 4.16.3+ and will be reuploading an image this weekend. See https://GitHub.com/earlvanze/AMD-ROCm-Miner

The way to use mega is to open a free account, share a file into that rather than download, and then download and run mega's sync app which will download the file to local for free and not get stopped like a direct download probably will. Cool, I'll look for the re-spin this weekend. |
It's up on my GitHub fork, by the way. Look for the Google Drive link. Been running stably for days now. https://ethermine.org/miners/0x9eaba219ac4ac28c2c008b3d9968cdbb7c5250f0/dashboard |
@earlvanze does it work with vega? |
Good question, I never tried it because I don't have one to test with. The kernel I upgraded to is this: [https://github.com/M-Bab/linux-kernel-amdgpu-binaries](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://github.com/M-Bab/linux-kernel-amdgpu-binaries&sa=D&source=hangouts&ust=1525150968665000&usg=AFQjCNFURudzYx4GZBB53jsbfHvRzZuxCQ) as recommended by @TekComm. It mentions Vega support. "Among these, is the new display code (previously called "DAL" or "DC") which is required for HDMI audio/sound and Vega/Raven generation display output."

Which version of Linux i that..is this only on your kernel.as I still can't get it even boot up once I apply the lyra script to v3 when I reboot it just hangs at a flashing underscore on boot |
That is for the live V3 to test with, otherwise you can just use the
kernels with V2

@TekComm what you are referring to I guess is this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/8weeln/you_can_undervolt_vegas_in_linux_now/. Looks like we need amdgpupro 18.20 to achieve the results of undervolting vegas. Any idea if it is possible to run gpupro with rocm 1.8.1 in the same machine? |
Hi, Would You be able to make a Rippa which include lyra-xmrV3 pack? And one more question. I have a second rig with 5 HD6990 and i7-3970x. Unfortunately can't run all 5 cards on Windows. 8 GPU limit. Any hint how to run a XMR-STAK on GPU nad CPU? 14.04.2 and official ATI drivers? Or maybe Lyra2z will work on those cards? |
Okay I did some troubleshooting/testing and realized you cannot use 16.04 for undervolting you must use either the live usb (V3) or install the live usb (V3). However I have a couple of problems when attempting either. If I use the live usb and try to install: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18ccS5X7r8ue71xUZrP6QCwX5KtdPlre_/view?usp=sharing and follow these directions: tar -xzvf lyra-xmrV3.tgz Toward the end of the execution it fails and says there is no space left on the device... The device has 8GB of ram and is on a 32GB flash drive made with rufus. Did the live usb need to be persistant? Next if I use the live usb to install on the ssd and try to install: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18ccS5X7r8ue71xUZrP6QCwX5KtdPlre_/view?usp=sharing and follow these directions: tar -xzvf lyra-xmrV3.tgz Everything seems to run fine and execute however when the machine reboots there is just a black screen and I cannot log into the machine and must wipe and restore to proceed. Is there something I need to do additional? My end goal is to run tdxxminer with rocm and undervolt the GPU to have clock states 5 6 7 as well as memory state 3 to run at an underclock and undervolt. I assume the way to do this if I actually got the things I needed installed would be: Clock States Memory State To save changes I will be glad to donate some BTC for anyone's help! |
@Hackintoshihope This: |
I use rocm-smi --setsclk to set the core clock masks which also sets the appropriate voltages automatically.

Exactly what I got when I tried installing the same on 16.04. Black screen, no way out. So I gave up. I think I am going to wait until the voltage lowering is incorporated into rocm itself unless I am also missing something.

@earlvanze setsclk is not useful when you just want to lower the voltage and keep the core clock. |
I made a flash drive, boot from it. Unfortunately I have this problem during boot. System Vega64 intel E5v2 Asrock x79 Extreme11 |
That explains a lot. |
What user/pass on V3 ? |
HOW TO EXIT THE ISO FILE |
thanks for this, would love to see the recent drivers w/pp working. trying to boot v5 on an Asus threadripper machine w/asus vega64 cards and drivers are loading but something is keeping opencl from working. Is the "VM_L2_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS:0x00000000" a clue? root@lubuntu: [ 11.143082] amdgpu 0000:43:00.0: at page 0x00000001023e2000 from 27 |
Coffee is scheduled for tomorrow. How to contact you on PM? In the meantime, have similar problem clinfo But in my case the driver crash just after the boot. I will post more info later. |
how to edit auto start mining ? |
Using v5 now for my 6 card rx580 rig. Didnt find claymore installed, so after installing that I am mining @27Mh/s. memclock is stuck @ 2000, and I cant seem to take it higher.. any tips? |
I dont think that version is compatible with nanopool. Seems to be too old.
|
@TekComm @ghost "I knew it you are jr bob dobbs :P" How nice of you to remember the original spelling, before my stalkers succeeded at coffee mug and tee sales. Unfortunately they seem to be pushing the old Merry Pranksters os, as deprecated by Dave McGowan in his Laurel Canyon series, read free now only in archive dot org. "As above so below", vs "From Above and From Below", I'm with the latter invocation(commit). |
Earl Co @earlvanze says on his v2 fork that he has kernel 4.18 in his v2, and I suppose that would (still) be a (Bab) kernel with Vega and HDMI support? https://github.com/earlvanze/AMD-ROCm-Miner |
Yes. Oh wait I forgot to update the file in the Google Drive link with the Bab 4.18 version. Give me a few minutes.

...be sure to scroll down there and read all, it's the readme for how to install. amdgpu-pro drivers are not included. There, find this link to v2 with a 4.18 kernel: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iel3XKQtI0Z-HPDELonKDxF4gaEYYWDb <https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iel3XKQtI0Z-HPDELonKDxF4gaEYYWDb>
Somewhere here, I believe that Earl also said he has a v3 we might be interested in?
