Unless I am mistaken, files on the bin folder are system-specific and should be on .gitignore by default, right?

Unless there is a good reason for not ignoring binary files. Is there?

Heroku says to include the bin folder in the git repo: https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails4.
