Do you mean jfr1111's Makevar code and the advice jrf1111 gave to ildodo12? I did download gfortran 6.3.0 and used jfr1111's Makevar code, but I got the same error messages:

@wallywalnut I DuckDuckGo-ed the warning that you are getting during compilation and found this related SO: ld: warning: text-based stub file are out of sync. Falling back to library file for linking. Could you please try solution provided there and see if it helps to resolve your issue? |
@jangorecki I used markkvdb's solution to install the past version of data.table. There is the same error message, but it managed to compile.

Hi @MichaelChirico, this one: "ld: warning: text-based stub file /System/Library/Frameworks//CoreFoundation.framework/CoreFoundation.tbd and library file /System/Library/Frameworks//CoreFoundation.framework/CoreFoundation are out of sync. Falling back to library file for linking." It was also in the original output, and I think that was the error that jangorecki was referring to? |

@jangorecki Yes, maybe it will be better to close this issue. I did read through the link that you sent, but I am not too sure which solution is right for me in that thread, so I thought it was better for me not to risk it. If someone has the same problem again and they really need 1.12.9, they can re-open this thread. Thanks for all the help! |
I followed the instructions on https://github.com/Rdatatable/data.table/wiki/Installation and got the following error messages and warning:
I did not get the clang error message that the others in this thread got: #4410, so I used the version of Makevars file specified in https://github.com/Rdatatable/data.table/wiki/Installation. My Mac version is 10.13.6.
