Client crash when setting render distance 33-66

Describe the bug
When I try to change the render distance, the game freezes and crashes without saying anything. Also, when I try to enter the world after a restart, it also crashes until I reduce the draw distance to 32.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Change render distance to 33-66
2. See error

Expected behavior
No game crashes

• I tried the latest development version but the issue persists.

If I add the immersive portals mod, an error appears in the logs:

It looks like that your GPU driver crashed or the JVM crashed. Try updating your graphics driver and reproduce with the bundled runtime.

I'm using the latest drivers that my video card has. And "reproduce with the bundled runtime" what is that?

If you haven't touched any advanced settings in the launcher, it should be using the bundled runtime.
Try using sodium and see if it fixes your issue.
