【NOTIFICATION】 STOP UPDATING TEMPORARILY 暂停更新通知

Dear RemixIcon users,

Thank you for all your love of Remixicon. We've received much feedback and praise in the past years. And many users expressed their recognition of our efforts by donations. It really means a lot to us.

But we are very sorry to say that we have to suspend the update of RemixIcon for several months.

I‘ve just changed my job a month ago and came to a team full of passion. I was getting so busy with my work in the past month and I will be busy too in the future about months. I love my new job and the stuff I am working on which took most of my spare time and almost all energy.

As you know, in order to ensure the quality of each icon, in the past period of time, almost all the icons were drawn by myself in my spare time. Besides, a lot of things should be done for updating the website and GitHub repo. Over the past period, RemixIcon has maintained an average of 6 weekly updates. But this time, I have to make the decision to suspend the update of RemixIcon.

You can still submit new icon requests and suggestions for improvement by issues and I will deal with these issues in my spare time as soon as I can. Don't worry, our official website will always on serve in the future.

We are also planning the next big version of RemixIcon, most of the part is to optimize the update process.

非常感谢你们对 RemixIcon 的支持和喜爱。过去一年里，RemixIcon 在没有经过正儿八经宣传的情况下，用户量呈现了指数上升，许多设计师和开发者将 RemixIcon 推荐给了自己的同事和朋友。RemixIcon 的官网也在大家的建议下新增了很多实用的图标和功能。还有非常多的小伙伴通过打赏的方式表达对我们工作的认可和感激，虽然大部分都是海外用户，但在国内「你懂的」的免费产品环境下能收到这么多的支持，我和小伙伴真的非常感动，让我们一次又一次充满干劲。

但是，我们不得不通知大家，RemixIcon 在未来的小几个月里将会暂停内容更新。

原因是我前段时间刚刚换了工作，新的团队充满了激情，大家虽然工作时间都超饱和但每个人都很拼。而我也非常喜欢现在做的事，几乎每天都加班到很晚，大部分空闲时间和激情都投入到了工作当中，难以抽出更多的时间（主要是精力）去完善图标库的更新工作。每天晚上回到家稍微放松下（羞耻得打两把王者荣耀）就跑去睡觉了，也更加珍惜周末的时光，会陪陪家人，有时加加班，还有准备工作考试等内容。

不少小伙伴都知道，为了保证图标质量，之前的 2000 多枚图标都是我业余时间一人绘制完成的，除了绘制图标，每次更新我还需要做矢量导出、代码清洗、生成字体、写更新日志、添加搜索关键词、完成网站构建、同步更新 Github 等一系列的工作。过去小两年里，我们也一直保持着大概平均一个半月一次的更新频率，不过这一次我不得不决定暂停内容的更新，原谅我的任性和逃避。

但是大家不要担心，官网将会持续为大家提供免费服务，而且大家依然可以通过 issue 等方式提新的图标请求或者改进建议，我们会尽快逐步完成大家的图标请求和功能改进建议。

目前我们也正在计划下一个大版本的更新，尤其是内容更新流程的改进，顺利的话，以后的更新频率会更加平滑平稳，而不是像过去这样，攒一段时间才集中更新。

再次感谢大家的支持和热爱，尤其是曾经通过建议、功能探讨和打赏等途径支持过我们的人，还有不少小伙伴用 RemixIcon 制作了第三方的 Figma、React、Vue 组件或插件，帮助我们将这一产品体不算完善，让我们觉得「开源」真好！

别急，我们消失一段时间就回来~

Can you please make a brief checklist/guideline for those who want to add their own icons that are compatible with Remix Icon for the time being? For example if I need an icon that is not in RI yet, I would like to make a temporary version of the icon, make a PR and hope that when time permits you can review/edit the icon and accept it?

We've experienced a lot in the past period of time, which consume a lot of energy and makes it difficult for us to balance our works, life and side project.

Anyway we're back now and are designing the next version (although planned for a long time and intermittently). The core purpose of the next version is to reduce the release process witch would make our future releases smoother and less burdensome. With a simpler release process, we could avoid long periods of not updating.
