This is a minor but annoying UI issue, at least with Ubuntu.
If you move the cursor over the icons in the lower left hand corner of the UI, each popup will display but they will stack up, that is, the second, third and even fourth icon will all display at the same time. It looks odd, you would expect each new popup to force the other ones to disappear.

Do they disappear for you if you click outside of the pop-ups? The problem is not straightforward if you dig into it. The option that is available is to orchestrate the pop-ups to make them disappear on timer event.
They do but it's still really annoying. I say ask @lukewegryn about the priority here, I realize that it may be a difficult problem to solve and maybe not worth doing now.
