Why can not delete the group chat even only have myself in the group chat? It really strange...

You have to give Delete Public Channels and Delete Private Channels permissions to owner role in Admin console -> Permissions first.

For some reason it is not enabled by default for owners.

I can reproduce this on 0.61.1.

How to reproduce

With a user of role "user", create a public or private channel and then try to click the channel-info button in the top, click edit ... there's no button to remove the channel.

@geekgonecrazy: I think, that the solution by @Gummikavalier is correct. The mentioned privileges should be given to the owner role by default.
