I've had this font installed on my machine since forever ago, after it popped up on the internet and we all had a good laugh about it.

Today however, I was reading an article about setting up panels on diversity, and somehow Firefox had defaulted the main text font to SBS, resulting in my text getting the black marker treatment as a result. Presumably this is because the font is built on Droid Sans, which Chrome uses automatically but Firefox doesn't recognize, resulting in a fun 'surprise' when I recently switched browsers.

Somehow I don't find tagging "diversity" as the target of being pasted over with "bullshit" quite so in line with a font that advertises itself as poking fun at the brogrammer/startup culture, a scene with some of the worst diversity problems in an industry already groaning under the weight of its own relentless sexism.

Frankly it strikes me that the only thing bullshit here is the choice of ligature in this case.

At the very least, maybe consider fixing the font family so this kind of 'fun' can be more voluntary in the future. Also, what is up with "pop" being a blacked out word? A personal vendetta against stack machines?

Sans Bullshit Sans shouldn't appear as Droid Sans, that was a bug in one of the earliest versions. If you download it again it should indentify as Sans Bullshit Sans (you might have to uninstall the old version first.)

Of course there's no intention to attack diversity (or stack machines!), so I'm looking forward to a pull request fixing this :) In the mean time, don't read too much into it: it's a novelty font based on a random buzzword list.

Thanks for reporting!

Cool. I'd offer to fix myself, but I don't even have the tools for font making anymore. Glad to hear it was mere oversight. :)

It's sad "diversity" is still there. It bugged me a bit the first time I saw it and for the longest time I assumed the creator just hated diversity.

I believe this deserves to be mentioned in README.
