About This Release
This is an emergency hotfix for the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. When working on a new feature for the following update, we discovered a vital flaw that would cause the application to become unstable when enabling or disabling multiple mods. Instead of reverting our code base and applying those changes, we're shipping this update based on the development branch instead. Our new update with some very exciting features should be here later this month!

This is the second update for April 2024, for the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. In this update we fixed a few bugs that you may have encountered in your time with the application. There are no new features in this update.

New Features and Quality of Life
- The application will now only launch in administrator mode when the user has Stardew Valley saved to a protected location. If you have Stardew Valley installed in a non-protected C drive location, you no longer have to accept an elevated privileges prompt.
- The user can now install the bundled version of SMAPI on-demand from the settings tab.
- The user can now access the SMAPI website on-demand from the settings tab.
- [For Developers] - Cleaned up a lot of the primary code of the application.

- #125 - The application will no longer allow you to enable, disable or uninstall mods when the game is active.
- #124 and #88 - Mods and modpacks should now have no issues overwriting existing mods (🤞🏼)
- #123 - Fixed issue where when installing mod updates, the user would have to disable the mod and then uninstall it before updating it.
- Updated the license, readme, etc. with correct dates and links.
- The padding around the edges of the first-run-setup window have been fixed.
- Moved SMAPI related settings in the settings tab to their own groupbox labelled "SMAPI"
- Made some buttons more visually consistent.

This is the first update for April 2024, for the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. In this update we fixed a few bugs that you may have encountered in your time with the application. There are no new features in this update.
Important Note
Due to the cost of digitally signing our applications, new versions will not be digitally signed. We'll revisit this in the future, but your anti-virus software/Windows may attempt to stop you from downloading and installing the application. We'd also like to remind users that the application launches with administrator privileges as it deals with writing and moving files that on many PCs are stored in the C:\Program Files Steam folders, which require administrative permissions. Don't be alarmed!

- #120 - When installing mods from a ZIP archive, occasionally the application will add a dash to the file path, when attempting to enable it from the disabled mods list. This should now be fixed in this update.
- The application would soft-lock the user out of resetting the application to default settings, due to the application restoring settings from the
settings.inifile introduction several versions ago. - The application was unable to display the SMAPI version for versions 4.0.0 and above. This has been fixed.

About This Release
This is the first update for April 2023, for the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. In this update we made some changes to telemetry, including adding a way that users can send voluntary telemetry data in the event that it may help with troubleshooting. We also made some changes to our telemetry policy including the information we collect. It's still completely anonymous, and we've committed to giving users the mandatory option to opt-out in the event that we ever change that.

- #115 - You can now launch Stardew Valley Mod Manager from the installation wizard, once complete. This was broken in the last update due to the application now requiring administrative privileges to run.

About This Release
This is the first update for October 2022, for the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. This update contains the usual bug fixes as well as a brand new feature called Stardew Valley WebTools - a web based application that can be accessed from the Mod Manager that allows you to access special tools that can be helpful in gameplay. We're also able to update these tools independently of the application. We actually released WebTools prematurely with version 220902, however the functionality and polish was completely absent. We're sorry about that.

This update brings Stardew Valley WebTools to the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. This feature allows you to access a series of helpful gameplay tools that we can expand and update without you needing to update the application. It best works with a second monitor, so you can view the WebTools while playing on your primary monitor.
Our first WebTools applet is the Villager Friendship Guide. This guide allows you to select the season you're playing in and gives you access to all of the villagers and their birthdays as well as the best gift items you can give them for maximum friendship points. This feature requires an internet connection to use.
We've also implemented some safety features as it is a web based system. When the user enters a website that isn't part of the WebTools or RWE Labs scope, they will be warned and will have the option to continue or go back to WebTools. The user also has the option to retain their choice and not be warned in the future.

About This Release
This is the second update for September 2022, for the Stardew Valley Mod Manager. This update contains the usual bug fixes as well as a brand new repair mode and a voluntary telemetry data collection program. Please read more about this below before coming to a conclusion as we are making it our goal to be as transparent as humanly possible regarding telemetry, data collection, all of the different anonymous data we are collecting and how it is used.

Application Repair Mode
This update brings a brand new repair mode to the application. From the control panel or settings application, simply click "Change/Modify" or "Repair" depending on your OS version to launch the repair application. This application can locate and fix issues without needing to fully reset the application or re-install it, but also offers a route to factory restore the application.
Telemetry
This update also brings a new voluntary telemetry program. By joining, you'll be helping us better develop Stardew Valley Mod Manager by sending us helpful anonymous statistics and information such as how many times you've performed an operation, how many mods you have enabled, installed, etc. and what colour theme you're using.
We value this information as it can give us a really good perspective on what features are important to our users, better shaping our understanding of how users actually use the application, versus how the application was designed and intended to be used.
Your data & Privacy
We're aiming to be as transparent as possible when it comes to data collection, which is why when you launch Stardew Valley Mod Manager for the first time in an update with telemetry, you'll be asked whether you want to opt-in as well as an example of the data that will be collected so you can see for yourself and make an informed decision.
We've also constructed a Telemetry Policy that goes into great detail about the telemetry system that we encourage you to read. This is accessible also via the Telemetry screen and from the settings menu.
We also do not share any telemetry data with third parties or anyone else. This is for use by RWE Labs only.
Joining or Leaving the Program
When you first launch the application after updating to a version that contains the telemetry program, you'll be met with a new window that explains the program and shows you an example of telemetric data. From here you can make a decision to opt in or out or simply close the window - to decide later. This will retain you as not opted-in but will prompt you every time you open until you make a decision.
To opt-in or opt-out at any time, simply go to Settings > Scroll to Telemetry > click "Opt-Out" or "Opt-In" depending on your program status. This will present you with the same window aforementioned, where you can make an informed decision about the telemetry program, including reading the policy and example.
FAQ
I'm not enrolled in the telemetry program, but there's still a telemetry file on my computer!
The telemetric data is recorded by the application regardless of whether you are opted in or out of the program. The data remains solely on your system and is not shared with RWE Labs however, unless you are enrolled in the program.
How often is my data shared with RWE Labs?
Telemetric data is shared occasionally with RWE Labs but only when the application is opened by the user. If the user does not open the application for 6 months, no telemetric data will be shared during this period. Users that use Stardew Valley Mod Manager more often will have their telemetric data shared with RWE Labs more frequently.
Can I view my telemetric data?
Telemetric data can be viewed and even edited on the local machine by going to the following file location:
%appdata%\RWE Labs\SDV Mod Manager\telemetry.json
However modified telemetric data will be flagged in our system and will not be used, so if you're truly interested in helping us out, please do not edit the data in this file. Viewing it however is encouraged if you are interested and want to understand the telemetric data system.
How is my data shared with RWE Labs?
Telemetric data is shared using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to a web server, where it is processed and either deleted (if modified manually) or sorted (if the data has not been edited) and transformed into visualisations that can be more easily understood by RWE Labs. This happens seamlessly while you use the application and requires an internet connection. On average, the upload of telemetric data should only take a few moments and should not have any meaningful impact on your data plan if you are on a metered connection.
