Mario Party Superstars

Game Update Version : 1.0.0

Current on master : 1.0.7091

The game is working fine but with a bit of graphical glitches (Blocky flickering on some models) and when played on higher Resolution than native there are some more weird glitches. But except that you can actually play the game quite fine.

Last error returned.

So far I've found one issue:

  • in Puddle Paddle and Pushy Penguins minigames, there are strange black effects on water (in Puddle Paddle when sterring the boat, and in Pushy Penguins when penguins are falling in to the water)
    Here is the example of puddle paddle:

And one really minor issue:
Bowser's Big Blast - in this minigame, there are flying black squares, there should be flying grey dust particles

So far I've found one issue:

Graphic glitch when spinning the select dice.
The glowing outlines of the dice sometimes appear a second time with incorrect scale. This only happens when you spin the dice fast and the time inbetween bugged frames seems to be consistent (assuming the spin speed is unchanged aswell). I included a screenshot of a bugged frame for better inspection.

There are minigames where shadows are missing
Here is the list of them:

  1. Bombs Away - Bomb shadows missing
  2. Mush Pit - Coin block shadows missing
  3. Hammer Drop - Coin Shadows missing
  4. Trap Ease Artest - Missing Shadows on traps
  5. Pit Boss - Player shadows missing
  6. Burnstile - Player shadows missing

Game crashes when playing with 2 or more players (pro controllers). Tested on Peach's Birthday Cake stage.

I can not reproduce that, I've connected two controllers to PC, configured them on Ryujinx and played 5 turns without any issues, also on Peach's Birthday Cake board

I'll test some more

So to follow up on this the game seems to crash when multiple players knocking the dice at the same time when deciding turn order. Got another crash in the latest version.

A lot of issues have been resolved and not reported.

When upscaling at character selection screen it looks normal now

No more ghosting when in game with the upscaler

Pizza mini game is fixed but there's a flickering related issues that's new or not reported before. When parts of pizza are eaten randomly parts of the pizza can ghost on the screen.

Advanced blend is still necessary for some of the effects to show correctly.

Another issue seen is in Cheep Cheep Chase. When upscaled and when the ripple effect of the water happens the water gets a "buzzy" texture and doesn't change back to normal. Seems to happen on other minigames that uses the ripple effect.

Custom dice item still does the same flickering issue but sometimes it doesn't. Might be random, also can't confirm if its related to upscaler or not.

Etch and Catch minigame, when you're drawing the line, sometimes it can flicker at the start of the minigame.

With 4 players, everyone with own control, On River Riders, Controls stops working. we can't press + or - to start the game

When wanting to select a profile on the number of players select screen, if you select the "Guest" option below the player to choose a profile for that player, Ryujinx shuts down with no error screen or warning.

Default settings with XBOX Series Elite 2 Controller and XBOX Series Controller as input.

The game worked several times but for some reason Ryujinx now keeps crashing always before getting to the start screen of the game (even after deleting update, save game, mods and shader cache).
Before this happened just every 2-3rd time when launching the game.

I might have at least found a way to reproduce this issue. It always happens when trying to start the game with two bluetooth controllers. When I first start it with one controller and then add the second one after the game has started, it seems to work (at least I get til character selection)

In addition to the above one I can reproduce another crash, it happens right at the end of the Paths of Peril minigame. Happens both docked and handheld, with controller connected or not.

Changed Settings: Region: Europe, Language: German, Multiplayer: ldn_mitm

Problem description: Cant play with 3+ machines over local network

Problem detail:

One PC creates a local lobby, second PC can find the lobby, third PC cant find it (It gets a message like "No rooms where found"). The trigger explicitly seems to be the "finding" of a lobby. Its irrelevant which PC creates the lobby or which PC searches for the lobby first. If a search was started and the lobby was found, no other PC can find it anymore.

First i tried this with a virtual network via OVPN, to make sure its not due to OVPN i reproduced this with 3 PCs in my home network. I also reproduced this with Tetris 99 while Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 are working just fine with 3 or more PCs.

I used v.1.0.0 because v.1.1.1 of MPS caused the "Players are using same save data" problem.

EDIT: Just tested with ryujinx LDN Build and it has a different behaviour. With RyuLDN it works flawless for 3 or more players. If i pick LdnMitm, everyone can find the lobby, but nobody can connect.

Game runs fine with no graphical issues.

Note

One thing to note is that after the merge of Ryujinx/Ryujinx#6721 the game might gotten slow on MacOS. The effect is sometimes visible on Windows too where the game briefly slows down when the whole map is shown to the player.
