Looks like at least repquota uses setpwent()/getpwent(). Can you check if enableing enumeration in sssd.conf helps?

yes activating enumeration helps but the ldap data base is very huge so performance decreases rapidly

Comment from sbose at 2015-06-11 15:39:23

repquota requires that enumeration is available. Would you mind to open a ticket for quota-tools and ask if this requirement can be removed? Please note that not only SSSD is affected by this e.g. Samba's winbind disables enumeration by default as well.

Comment from diablo80 at 2015-06-11 16:17:23

okay, I will do it.

Since enabling enumeration fixed quota, I'm closing this ticket on the SSSD side

resolution: => invalid
status: new => closed
