In Debug I can see that GC is triggered when the user swipes the carousel; that causes delays, and the carousel feels sluggish. Works ok in Release on a relatively old phone - Samsung Note 8.

It's required to investigate if we can avoid GC firing up on every swipe.

Not relevant anymore. There is no SSW People page in v2024.
