Release Notes

Development Version

Major Features

  • Reworked dependencies:
    • removed unrelated ones
    • less toolboxes started (only the strictly necessary ones)
    • automatic start of toolboxes when needed
    • new interface to handle local dependencies
      • grasp_add_dependency: to add one
      • grasp_remove_dependency: to remove one
    • installation of dependencies with finer grain control (disabling of those already installed, or with mex file compilations, or local dependencies, see grasp_install)
  • grasp_struct: using notations and matrices from the paper "Irregularity-Aware Graph Fourier Transforms"
  • New data structure to handle graph filters of various types, and optimize computations
    • grasp_filter_struct: documentation, and function to create an all-pass filter
    • grasp_apply_filter: function to obtain either the filter in matrix form, or apply it to a signal given a graph
    • grasp_show_spectral_response: given a graph and a filter, shows its spectral response
  • Initial implementation for directed graphs
  • Linear graph signal transform visualization (grasp_show_transform)

New Third Party Toolboxes

New Functions

  • grasp_clean_pdf_export: Function to create nice PDFs, not cropped ones...
  • grasp_set_figure_size: Function to set a figure to a predefined size (works with docked figures too)
  • grasp_ternary_op: Classical ternary operator missing from Matlab
  • grasp_intrinsic_stationary_realization: Function to generate a realization of an intrinsic stationary graph signal
  • grasp_show_transform: Function to show a linear graph signal transform

Minor Features

  • grasp_show_fouriermodes: parameter for eigenvalue precision for titles.
  • grasp_show_graph: use default parameters embedded in the graph structure
  • grasp_show_graph: default axis style to equal for accurate coordinates display
  • grasp_show_graph: colorbar switch
  • grasp_show_matrix: faster plotting using patch instead of fill
  • grasp_show_graph: nodes with edges to identify nodes filled in white
  • grasp_install: check that the current directory is the top-level directory
  • grasp_delta: faster implementation and sparse output addition
  • grasp_generate_gif: memory optimization & GNU octave compatibility
  • grasp_erdos_renyi: possibility to remove layout computation or obtain an undirected graph
  • grasp_barabasi_albert: possibility to remove layout computation
  • grasp_eigendecomposition: displaying the method and reference used to compute the GFT
  • grasp_eigendecomposition: named inner products
  • grasp_show_graph: Honoring hold on / off
  • grasp_show_graph: More options to display node labels (background color, shifted text, font size)
  • grasp_show_graph: Better handling of background images, with the possibility of plain color images)
  • grasp_merge_struct: Warning for each parameter set that has no default value (helps with typos in parameter names)
  • grasp_show_graph: More parameters to control the look of highlighted nodes

Bugfixes

  • grasp_show_fouriermodes: Missing titles when using a single structure parameter.
  • grasp_watts_strogatz: Better implementation, closer to the original model.

Version 1.1
