Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Matrix is a great way to unify various other chat platforms via bridges. As of 2020, Gitter has become Matrix native, and as of 2023, Gitter has now fully migrated to using Matrix. It seems like the Gitter badge in the readme hasn't been updated yet to reflect the change.

Describe the solution you'd like

Create a Matrix Space (or use the existing Gitter matrix room) and bridge it to the discord server.

As of last month, Gitter has completely migrated to Matrix: https://app.gitter.im/#/room/#lukesampson_scoop:gitter.im, and it seems that a few of the maintainers here are mods in the room.
