Vital Events

  • Maximum percentage for leading cause of death is a bit low. Maybe a better one would be to check that the sum of the 5 percentages doesn’t equal 100% (it shouldn’t as we only include the top 5).

Households

Proposed checks

Dataset Checks Threshold Min Threshold Max
Household Estimates 1. household estimates < correspondent dwelling estimates
2. Scotland value = sum of councils
8300 (the 2001 value) 101% of last year value for Scotland (= 2,495,623 for 2019)
Dwellings Estimates Scotland value = sum of councils 9000 (the 2001 value) 102% of last year value for Scotland (= 2,636,871 for 2019
dwellings-by-type* sum (number) [by Council] = sum (dwellings-by-council-tax-band $number) [by Council]
dwellings-by-council-tax-band 0 23% of last year total value for Scotland ( = 2,645,950 for 2019)
Household projections 1. total (1 adult 1 child, 1 adult 2+ children, 1 person female, 1 person male, 2 person all adult, 2+ adult 1+ children, 3+ person all adult) = All households
2. non-heads + all households = population projection value for that age-class and area

* At the moment data on type of dwellings are not available so the last published are the 2017 data.

  • Re to the dwellings_by_type dataset: it includes the total by council that we removed from the dwellings-by-council-tax-band table. Do we need it?
  • Re the household projections: In the data we provided there are still the non-heads category, do you use it? We do not publish these values anywhere.
