The 3 horizontal lined icon in the top left corner allows users to show or hide the left menu panel. This feature request is for remembering the state of this left menu panel visibility between refreshes, logins, etc. It will be remembered only within that same browser instance.

Tested and verified by collapsing the panel:

and then verifying that it remains collapsed after logging out and logging back in:
