Hello,

The console display an error on "Dropdown" font familiy and it prevent select boxes items from showing ( so its blocking in my context ).

The error displayer in FF's console is :

Ok, just an update, while the error message shown in console was the same, in fact my issue was due to a "conflict" between tablesort plugin and semantic ui's dropdown.

I have a sortable table ( through tablesort ) that contains dropdowns ( semantic ui dropdowns ) and the issue occurs when sorting columns ( no matter on which column the sort is issued ).

It appears that tablesort does not do an "in depth" copy of the element sorted and somehow mess the plugins and elements attached to sorted elements.

A quick fix was to use another plugin to sort table ( stupidtable : https://github.com/joequery/Stupid-Table-Plugin )

...which I assume is something you know, just wanted to politely remind you of this. It makes me grind my teeth to see a console.error on my production site, but don't worry, I got big teeth, so they can suffer a bit more gindring... haha... 😅

And with dropdowns too:

downloadable font: OS/2: bad linegap: -32 (font-family: "Dropdown" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:0) source: data:application/x-font-ttf;charset=utf-8;base64,AAEAAAALAIAAAwAwT1MvMggjB5AAAAC8AAAAYGNtYXAPfuIIAAABHAAAAExnYXNwAAAAEAAAAWgAAAA … AG0AbwBvAG4ARgBvAG4AdAAgAGcAZQBuAGUAcgBhAHQAZQBkACAAYgB5ACAASQBjAG8ATQBvAG8AbgAuAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=

Dropdown selection does seem to act a little odd in firefox when they have a scrollbar, could this be related?

I'm also seeing this in Firefox 54 (32 bit) on Windows 10 using Semantic UI 2.2.13.
I'm not seeing this on other browsers.

There has been no activity in this thread for 90 days. While we care about every issue and we’d love to see this fixed, the core team’s time is limited so we have to focus our attention on the issues that are most pressing. Therefore, we will likely not be able to get to this one.

However, PRs for this issue will of course be accepted and welcome!

If there is no more activity in the next 90 days, this issue will be closed automatically for housekeeping. To prevent this, simply leave a reply here. Thanks!

The standard Semantic-UI documentation (at https://semantic-ui.com/modules/dropdown.html#/usage) suggests the following jQuery script to create your dropdowns:
$(".ui.dropdown").dropdown();

You can resolve the issue in two different ways:

  1. change the <i class="dropdown icon"> tags to <i class="caret down icon">, and/or
  2. change the straight-from-the-documentation function call from:
    $(".ui.dropdown").dropdown();
    to
    $('div.ui.dropdown').dropdown(); and $('select.ui.dropdown').dropdown();

...the keyword dropdown, in the context of an icon (if you use the standard documentation's recommended jQuery call) is unfortunately, incorrectly being interpreted as a dropdown menu.
