Version 12.1.1
Settings are:
Show magnifier near cursor - on
Use square... - off
Pixel size/count - 10/10
Show screen wide... - off
Fixed size region mode - off

After taking a region screenshot, I have the image editor opening for annotation. Instead of a pointer type cursor (my expectation), the magnifier remains and makes editing difficult. Clicking the Drawing Cursor icon does not change the cursor.
