Building Marketplace Solution with Shopify Plus

Hi there. We are looking to build a marketplace with Shopify Plus. What advice do you have? Is Shopify Plus not enough? Do we need to go headless? What tech stacks do we need? We don't want to use the Webkul app. We want to build a custom solution on top of Shopify Plus if possible so we can eventually sell this to 3rd parties.

Our core functionalities:

• Vendor should be able to upload products, prices, specifications. Vendors can create their own shop within Hectool to upload and manage their assortment.
• We need a product page with a clear view on all the variants/specs of a product. Client should be able to choose the correct variant based on their needs.
• Some products can have many different variants (for example, one product that can be orderen in sizes ranging from 2mm-30mm diameters).
• Resellers should be able to access product database and see which products they are able to resell and which are not based on title, EAN code, ISBN code etc (see example of partner dashboard bol.comattached).
  Reviews based on vendor/seller + reviews for the platform itself.
• Vendors and resellers should be able to set their own Shipping methods, costs and times.
• Vendors and resellers should fulfil their own orders (track and trace etc)
• Vendors and resellers should have their own portal for customer questions/problems etc
• Sales dashboard for vendors
• Sales dashboard for Operator (Hectool)
• Admin portal for resellers + operator
• Loyalty programs if possible in future?
• Good filter functionality based products specs, shipment times, etc
• Good search functionality based on product data, EAN, Brand, etc.
• Billing (dashboard) for vendors/operator/resellers

Although this seems a great idea and I was thinking to work on something similar.

Well there's a rule on app prohibitions that states an app can't let merchants turn their stores into marketplaces..

Although webkul does this they are working on a gray area since they have an external page for vendors to upload products
