I am using unite vim and unite-tags in a source tree with many many lines of code. it takes ~20+ minutes for unite to be done Caching tags file candidates.
Is there any way to cache the results to a file so it can survive between sessions?

No. This feature should be implemented by sources. Not unite.vim.
