I haven't done any processing for a few months, and just finished updating all my software. I am running PI Core 1.8.9-2 Ripley (x64) (build 1605 | 2024-03-23). I initially ran the latest .msi for GraXpert, thinking it would uninstall the old version before installing the new. Tried using the script in PI and got the exact error as pictured above. I've since uninstalled the old Graxpert, rebooted my laptop, ran the latest .msi for GraXpert again, and updated my PI repositories, and I'm still getting the above error. Any ideas?

Hi @Xcrosz and @schmitty78, could you try to delete the GraXpert folder that is mentioned in the error message (C:/Users/Capy/AppData/Local/GraXpert in @Xcrosz's case) and then try to run denoising in the GraXpert standalone version first? It should then download the AI model again and it should be available in the Pixinsight process afterwards. You can choose the AI model version in the advanced menu on the right in the standalone app.

@Steffenhir thank you! I just figured out that the models needed to be downloaded through the standalone app, just before seeing your reply. I have not deleted the folder yet, and the app is currently downloading the denoise AI model. I'll try after it is downloaded, and delete the folder & re-download the models if it doesn't work. Thanks again!

@Steffenhir @Xcrosz Ok, here's what I did to do to get it working. I uninstalled GraXpert. I removed the GraXpert repository from PI. I rebooted my PC. I reinstalled GraXpert and downloaded the latest AI models for background extraction and denoising. I reinstalled PI 1.8.9-2 Ripley (x64) (build 1605 | 2024-03-23). I updated existing repositories. I added the GraXpert repository (https://pixinsight.deepskyforge.com/update/graxpert-process/) & updated the repositories. Now everything works, and I realized that I probably did not have to go through all of that, because I think I was trying to run GraXpert denoising through an out-of-date script that I think was installed from the (https://www.ideviceapps.de/PixInsight/Utilities/) repository, which was giving me the error. Now that I've refreshed all installs, that older script is not in the Scripts list, and I can successfully use GraXpert from its Process icon. Hope this helps anyone else having issues!

@Steffenhir Ok, now I'm back to the denoise function not working. The only thing I've changed is adding the tensorflow.dll file to the PI folder for GPU acceleration. Now I'm getting this error.

Hi @schmitty78,

please try to set the batch_size parameter to 1. In standalone GraXpert you can find that parameter in the advanced settings on the right. If that does not help you might want to try the denoise model in version 2.x. That one has less ressource demands than the 3.x models. If that still doesn't work you can try to disable the hardware acceleration (also in the advanced settings).

CS, David
