SDesk ISO 18

The eighteenth SDesk ISO is here.

This 'release' is a hot-fix, and finally eliminates the pacman keyring issue once and for all.
This bug was caused by an file called etc-pacman.d-gnupg.mount in /etc/systemd/system which would clear the contents of /etc/pacman.d/gnupg every time a system rebooted or shut down. This is an issue that has been affecting SDesk for awhile now.

You can patch an existing installation by installing the 'archiso' package, copying the /usr/share/archiso/configs/releng/airootfs/etc/systemd folder to your systems /etc/ directory, and letting it replace any file or folder it asks to replace.

SDesk ISO 17

The seventeenth SDesk ISO is here.

This release includes the new GNOME 46 Desktop Environment, ships a new version of the previously backdoored 'xz' package, and also restores the vanilla GNOME Shell theme for a more consistent experience, the light theme is also now handled by an extension. As always, this release includes a beautiful new background.

NOTE: The sixteenth SDesk ISO has been removed after it was found to contain one of the vulnerable 'xz' package versions.

The Fifteenth SDesk ISO is here.

This release includes a more consistent icon set called Kora, an update notifier extension to make system maintenance easier than ever, an updated installer, and a beautiful new background! It also fixes an installation error that would occur on lower-end hardware.

SDesk ISO 14

The Fourteenth SDesk ISO is here.

Here is everything you need to know:

• The "qt6-wayland" package has been removed from the system. This package caused many issues with Swirl and other Qt6 applications. If you insist on using Wayland for Qt6 applications, you can reinstall it easily. Existing installations are not affected.

This is a very small fix, and should not be regarded as a new release.

SDesk ISO 13

The Thirteenth SDesk ISO is here with an updated Swirl browser that includes Lua plugin support, custom search engines and more, better window tiling support, an updated Calamares installer, better desktop icon support, and a brand new default background! The startup sound has also been modified so when it runs it is detached from the script that plays it, allowing SDesk to boot up even faster.

Here is everything you need to know:

• Packages have been updated
• SShell now includes a tiling assistant extension
• SShell detaches the mplayer process that plays the startup sound
• Swirl 2.2 now includes plugin support
• Swirl 2.2 now allows you to add custom search engines to the browser
• Swirl 2.2 no longer uses a custom user agent, allowing more websites to load
• You can now tile windows from the bottom and top of your screen
• New default background

SDesk ISO 12

The Twelfth SDesk ISO is here!

Here is everything you need to know:

• Packages have been updated
• SShell now uses intelligent autohide on Dash to Dock
• SShell is packaged separately on new ISO releases

This is a relatively small update, but it should fix some issues with too much screen size being taken up by the dock.

The Eleventh SDesk ISO is here!

Here is everything you need to know:

• Packages have been updated
• SShell has been shipped, which is a successor to SDeck and overhauls most parts of the GNOME Shell via extensions
• New Icon Theme (Moka + Arc)
• (Partially) New cursor theme
• GNOME Software is no longer shipped, and is now replaced by Octopi.
• New Shell theme.
• 'make' is now included by default

To get SShell on an older SDesk ISO, all you need to do is install the sshell package, and the included pacman hook will take care of the rest.

The Tenth SDesk ISO is here!

• The patch for the vulnerability in libcue has been shipped in this update.

The ninth SDesk ISO is going to be deleted to prevent users from downloading a package with a vulnerability.
Make sure to Update your system if you are using an earlier version of SDesk.
